The project's own README says it can run on a US$5 server, a GPU cluster or serverless infrastructure.
That flexibility is exactly why cost varies so much. Your bill has three parts:

What does self-hosting Hermes Agent actually cost?
Self-hosting costs a server, model API usage and engineering time. Hostinger's September 2026 cost guide puts VPS hosting at US$4 to US$25 a month and model calls at about US$2 to US$60. For a business, the largest hidden cost is the staff time to install, secure, patch and monitor the agent.
Nous Research publishes no official hardware requirements. Independent testing by Findstack in September 2026 concluded that 4GB of RAM is the practical floor once the built-in browser tool is enabled, and warned that the browser server's default of 50 concurrent sessions can exhaust a small machine without any error in the agent's log.
Headline VPS prices also carry conditions. Hostinger's 4GB plan at US$6.49 a month is a two-year promotional rate paid upfront, renewing at US$11.99. Month-to-month providers cost more per month but less if the pilot stops early.
For a business, the line most often missing from the budget is engineering time. An agent that can read files, browse the web and message staff is privileged software. Someone must patch it, restrict its permissions and watch its logs.
How much does Hermes Cloud from Nous Research cost?
Hermes Cloud bills daily from Nous credit. A Medium instance costs US$0.56 a day while running and a Large costs US$1.09 a day, with stopped instances at US$0.03 a day. Inference and tool usage are billed separately. Server locations include Singapore and Tokyo, but not Hong Kong.
According to the Hermes Cloud pricing page, the two sizes are:

Running 24/7, Medium works out at roughly US$17 a month (about HK$133) and Large at roughly US$33 (about HK$259), before inference. Nous Portal subscriptions of US$20, US$100 and US$200 a month include US$22, US$110 and US$220 of credit respectively.
How much does Hermes Agent Express cost in Hong Kong?

What is the real total cost for a 20-person team?
For a 20-person team pilot, hosting is usually the smaller line. Model usage and people time drive the total. On the illustrative assumptions below, a self-hosted pilot and a managed Hong Kong plan land within a few hundred Hong Kong dollars of each other on hosting, and diverge mainly on internal engineering hours.

Three settings move the model bill more than any hosting choice. The first is model tier: routing routine summaries and replies to a budget model, and reserving a premium model for complex reasoning, can change the monthly figure several times over. The third is context length, since long conversation histories and large tool outputs are re-sent with every call.

Does hosting Hermes Agent in Hong Kong solve PDPO concerns?
